Of course we did Harry Potter newborn photos – once you decide on a Harry Potter Nursery, you have to add the portraits! In fact, I raided the nursery for props as I created these. Allow me to introduce our little Ravenclaw*, Aurora Jean.
I found this perfect trunk at a yard sale and did a little jig of happiness. Perfect! Ready for a train ride to Hogwarts.
The broom was a consignment store find, the cauldron is from a Halloween hot chocolate special, and the owl, Sorting Hat, and textbooks are from Amazon. The potion bottles were a huge project – read more in my nursery post!
My husband gave me this Time-Turner necklace early in our relationship. Does this guy get me or what?
This wand is actually an awesome remote control for a television, that really has an effect when you “swish and flick” properly.
She’ll grow into it!
I went with our hardcover editions, since they match so nicely, but I have a soft spot for my old paperback British ones.
What kind of Ravenclaw would she be without a textbook at hand?**
* Yes, of course she can choose her own house when she is 11. But we are a Ravenclaw family so far, so we went with probabilities 🙂 And I get tired of everything being Gryffindor-themed.
** Okay, the answer here is apparently “A Ravenclaw who wears a Gryffindor tie”. But this was the only little baby Harry Potter cloak I could find! See above, re: “everything being Gryffindor-themed”
