I read this quote a few years ago in Gretchen Rubin’s amazing book, The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun
. It struck me as a fundamental truth back then, but even more so now that I am a parent. There can be some extremely long days when you are a home with an infant – loud days, as well! But as I started going over her first year of photos and videos to prepare her baby book, I was amazed at how much she has changed. Her newborn photos are almost unrecognizable! It’s hard to believe she is the same person in those photos.
The year was very short.
